Waiting For An Audience

AG!D created, designed, costumed and rehearsed the dances listed below. Covid stuck in 2020 just as they were scheduled to be performed. Some have been reworked for the screen. One was streamed live in May 2021. Others await an audience.

An exploration of power evoking the netherworld behind a glamorous image. Devised from Visconti’s short film, La Strega Bruciata Viva (The Witch Burned Alive).

A duet performed to the sound of a beating heart. Head, senses, skin, bones, heart, blood, hands, stomach, genitals and, finally, the feet.

An exploration of power through status consciousess dressing and the spectacle of distraction. Inspired by Rossellini’s made for TV film, La Prise de Pourvoir de Louis XIV (The Rise to Power of Louis XIV).

The sound is activated in real time by dancers wearing on-body sensors. It is heard over the audience's personal cell phones.

May 20, 2021 Streamed from New York Live Arts. 7:30PM and on demand through May 28, 2021. 

6 Ft Apart is a dance trio created in collaboration with engineer, Agnes Fury Cameron. The dancers are wired up. Armitage types code into the computer, launching the sound - traveling to you live, in real-time.
